Camp Cornerstone Staff Positions (2024)
Camp Cornerstone staff positions are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. All canadians between the ages of 15-30 who are legally entitled to work in Canada can apply for these jobs.
1) Camp Coordinator
we are SEEKING TO hiring 1 full time position for this role. Preference will be given to University Students & People with Teaching experience.
Responsibilities will include:
Overseeing all camper registration
Communication with parents
Coordination of volunteers
Oversee the camp schedule and plan off site trips
Working with Cornerstone’s Plan to Protect Coordinator to ensure we follow Plan to Protect Policy
Management of the camp budget
Working with the Camp Director to ensure roles and expectations are being met
Dates and Times:
May 28 - August 20 (12 weeks @ 40 hours/week)
Saturday and Sunday's off
You will be required to work on August 5 (which is a Civic Holiday)
Staff meetings will be held at 8:15am each morning during camp weeks. Camp ends at 4:00pm each day. There will be some clean up required afterwards so expect to be done by 4:30pm. Hours are more flexible during planning and preparation weeks.
Remuneration:
This position pays $19/hour for 12 weeks (40 hours/week)
2) Large Group Leader
This year we are hiring 1 full time positions for this role. Preference will be given to University Students & People with teaching experience.
Responsibilities will include:
Planning for and leading the Large Group times (Morning & Afternoon)
Large Group includes:
Songs & Actions
Skits
Bible Lesson
Interactive Game
Planning for and leading our Group Games (3x a week)
Attending training events during the first week
Dates and Times:
June 17 - August 9 (8 weeks)
Saturday and Sunday's off
You will be required to work on August 5 (which is a Civic Holiday)

Remuneration:
This position pays $17.55/hour for 280 hours over 8 weeks.
2) Program Leader
This year we are hiring 4 full time positions for this role. Preference will be given to University Students
Responsibilities will include:
Planning for and leading a program area
Attending training events during the first week
Program Areas Include:
Crafts
Sports & Games
STEM Lab
Challenges
Dates and Times:
June 24 - August 16 (8 weeks)
Saturday and Sunday's off
You will be required to work on August 5 (which is a Civic Holiday)
Staff meetings will be held at 8:15am each morning during camp weeks. Camp ends at 4:00pm each day. There will be some clean up required afterwards so expect to be done by 4:30pm. Hours are more flexible during planning and preparation weeks.
Remuneration:
The position pays minimum wage ($16.55/hour) for 280 hours over 8 weeks.
3) Group Leader
This year we are hirING 8 full time positions for this role. Preference will be given to High School Students who are at least going into grade 11
Responsibilities will include:
Leading a Camper Group of roughly 15-20 campers each week with approximately 2-3 helpers
Ensuring that all campers are accounted for and assist them with various needs including bathroom breaks, lunch help, etc.
Assisting in the set up and tear down of the camp space
Attending training events during the first week
Dates and Times:
July 2 - August 9 (6 weeks)
Saturday and Sunday's off
You will be required to work on August 5 (which is a Civic Holiday)
Staff meetings will be held at 8:15am each morning during camp weeks. Camp ends at 4:00pm each day. There will be some clean up required afterwards so expect to be done by 4:30pm. Hours are more flexible during planning and preparation weeks.
Remuneration:
The position pays minimum wage ($16.55/hour) for 240 hours over 6 weeks.
